Traveling Earthwork / Paving Superintendent

Location: Traveling Position

A Traveling Earthwork / Paving Superintendent is responsible for completion of high profile projects throughout the country and various other functions including, but not limited to:

  • Run day-to-day operations on the construction site
  • Needs to be multi-faceted in construction knowledge from earthwork, utilities, and paving
  • Maintain a safe work site and certify that all company safety protocols are followed
  • Represent the company with professionalism and lead the overall construction effort in accordance with design, quality, and schedule
  • Direct and Lead the onsite foreman & make onsite decisions
  • Clearly communicate the plan and directive with the foreman & subcontractors
  • Develop the work schedule with the project manager & maintain and lead discussion of a two-week look ahead schedule
  • Communicate daily with the Construction Operations Manager about schedules and resources needed
  • Review equipment and personnel with foreman for resources needed
  • Must poses a forward thinking drive to continually improve and have the willingness to learn
  • Must be willing to attain certain certifications that may be needed on an as project basis
  • Have working knowledge of FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, and various state DOT specifications

Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:   

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional construction certifications or training preferred
  • At least 10 years’ experience as a Superintendent
  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
  • Candidates must possess strong mathematical skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners, general contractors, and local enforcement agencies
  • 100% traveling position
