Construction Take-Off Technician
Location: Independence, Ohio
A Construction Take-Off Technician is responsible for reading, interpreting specifications, and drawings for commercial construction so that quantities can be determined for developing bid proposals and various other functions including, but not limited to:
- Utilize digitizing software to develop 3-D models of projects to determine Earthwork Quantities
- Review soil borings to determine how they may affect productions
- Determine Utility Materials required per drawings and specifications
- Notify Estimator of any problems while preparing bid
- Assist Surveyor's in preparing GPS data to run automated equipment in the field
- Other duties as assigned
Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Two years previous related experience preferred
- Utilize and have thorough understanding of AutoCAD and Earthwork 3-D
- Must have good math skills
- Accuracy of quantities provided to Estimators is extremely important
- Limited travel required as needed
- Able to use Trimble business center
- Must be very task oriented and have high energy to get a variety of duties done sometimes on a deadline; ideal candidate reacts well under pressure
