Heavy Truck Mechanic

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

A Heavy Truck Mechanic is responsible to ensure all equipment is in compliance with DOT and various state rules, regulations, and various other functions including, but not limited to:

  • Repair light trucks, and other motor vehicles
  • Brakes, suspension, cooling and electrical
  • Oil changes, batteries and tire maintenance
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspection on company owned vehicles
  • Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components
  • Perform quality inspections prior to returning the vehicle to job site
  • Other duties as assigned

Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:   

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Three years previous related experience is required
  • Must have strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assigned and to be able to prioritize
  • Occasional overtime may be necessary during peak times
  • Knowledge of shop equipment and Mack, Cummins, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Ford, CAT
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule at times
