Industrial / Energy Services Estimator

Location: Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania

A Industrial / Energy Services Estimator is responsible to prepare competitive job estimates by interpreting drawings / bid documents and to perform take offs for labor, equipment, materials and various other functions including, but not limited to

  • Read, understand and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, estimate to be 95% complete prior to formal review with Chief Estimator
  • Prepare rough schedule of project for determining time frame
  • Review estimated productions with superintendents to finalize the bid
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Transmission line / access road experience
  • “Bolts down” Industrial and Process plant experience
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong aptitude in civil construction means and methods
  • Strong aptitude in estimating crews and production
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment
  • Strong knowledge of E and S and regulatory requirements
  • HCSS / Heavybid a plus
  • Willing to travel to attend pre-bids and bid walks
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and stay involved with projects from start to finish
  • Good communicator
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and be a “self starter”
