Human Resource Co-Op

Location: Independence, Ohio

Independence Excavating, Inc., a nationally recognized industry leader in challenging site development, demolition, environmental remediation and concrete crushing seeks to fill the position of a Human Resource Co-Op to work directly with the Companies Recruiter, Benefits Specialist, and HR Director. A Human Resource Co-Op is responsible for various functions including, but not limited to:

  • Work directly with Talent and Recruitment Specialist to execute all areas of staffing and new employee onboarding process
  • Support Benefits Specialist with benefits administration tasks including but not limited to insurance enrollments/terminations, auditing carrier bills, coordinating open enrollment, and other various projects and processes
  • Assist with planning and coordinating company events including, the annual Company Picnic, Christmas party, Halloween party, social committee events, community outreach/volunteer activities, and other corporate functions
  • Assists HR Director in conducting various HR Audits of internal process and procedures as well as companywide HR practices
  • Assist with personnel file management, organization, scanning, and disposal as well as HR related data entry
  • Perform as backup to the Receptionist by answering phones, greeting customers and visitors with exceptional care and respect, and sorting, distributing and processing mail, faxes, interoffice mail and deliveries

 Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Human Resources
  • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-orientated and organized
  • Ability to work well autonomously and on a team
