Outside Sales - Independence Communications

Description
Provides sales communication solutions to business-to-business customer base, as well as solicitation of new business. Also train customers on products.
Main Functions
- Initiate new business via cold calls/visits, telemarketing.
- Maintain current accounts including resolving customer issues.
- Routinely activates and programs new phones.
- Train customers on phone and its features.
- Attend trade shows.
- Maintain community contacts.
- Trains customers on new product and/or new features.
- May occasionally provide limited training to new sales reps.
- Regular decision making on what product to offer to achieve customer objectives as well as which rate plan to suggest to customer based on individual customer situation/use.
- Must meet sales quotas as outlined by Sales Mgr/Company President.
- Responsible for physical product itself ensuring items are not damaged, lost or stolen.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- Associates Degree is required
- 3 -5 years previous sales experience is preferred, although an individual who can demonstrate high degree of drive, self discipline, great people/communication skills and have worked independently in the past may be successful in this position.
- Must be able to manage own time and prioritize tasks independently.
- Must be highly self motivated to initiate new business and achieve monthly quotas.
- Must take responsibility to resolve customer problems.
- Must present a professional reflection of the company when dealing with the ultimate decision maker, which is usually an executive, if not the President, of a company.
- Verbal communication skills must be exceptional.
- Must enjoy and be comfortable with meeting new people especially when looking for new business.
- Must be able to communicate effectively about product, rate plans, payment, etc. to ultimate decision maker which is typically an executive, if not the President, of a company.
Working Conditions
- Works mostly on the road in local area in all kinds of weather, although there are times when employee will be in the office.
- Possibility exists that person could work mainly from home if he/she has own office equipment.
- May need to be available during non-business hours occasionally should an emergency customer problem arise.
